Why should a person become a member of the local church?

• Membership protects the unity of the church. 
• Members are eager to serve God with faithfulness, understanding the responsibility for the church’s growth, and willing to support the testimony of the church.  
• Membership is a privilege and an exciting way to be part of the family of Cornerstone.

It happens all the time. We run into a friend at the grocery store or pass a coworker in the hallway. They ask, “How are you? How’s life?” And we respond, “Busy.” But we aren’t just busy—we’re too busy – crazy busy. So many of us are living our lives at 100 mph and feeling burned out. We have ridiculous expectations for ourselves and to make matters worse, busyness is often celebrated in our high-achieving, fast-paced culture. Between demanding jobs, kids schedules, maintaining a home, and other responsibilities, life leaves little time for rest and relaxation. This can lead to exhaustion, burnout, and irritability, which can put a strain on the marriage. How did we get this way? What effect does all this have on your marriage? Does your ever-busy lifestyle make it difficult for you and your partner to stay connected emotionally, physically, and spiritually? Without focused time together, couples can become defined only as co-parents, roommates or something else. This can be especially true for parents, who may have long nights, conflicting work schedules, and many commitments. Marriage at the Speed of Life is the focus of this year’s Cornerstone Marriage Retreat. In our four sessions, we will look at four ways to combat a hurried life with the acrostic T.I.M.E. Thoughtfulness – Taking an inventory of why we are so busy Intentionality – Investing into our marriage through better planning to build margin so that can focus on one another Mutuality – Thinking “We” instead of “Me” – Finding ways to love and bless one another.

Guys, join our men's ministry at Eagle Claw Rod & Gun Club on Saturday, April 12th, for a day of teaching, lunch, and afternoon activities, including hiking, fishing, indoor games, and a shooting range. This event is open to men and boys ages 12+.  This is a great opportunity to hang out, build deeper friendships, and invest in yourself alongside a great group of men. You won’t want to miss it!

Have you ever considered that the Holy Spirit will not mystically place God’s Word in our minds? He does not magically put it in there, but what He does do is this: He pulls it out of our hearts, retrieving it and bringing it to mind just when we need it. A verse that suddenly comes to your remembrance so you can share it at the right moment with a friend who is struggling. A passage that rushes into your thoughts when you are in the midst of temptation. This is the work of the Holy Spirit that He performs in the hearts of His people who have memorized God’s Word. So join us in our Storing Up Scripture Campaign as we embark on a yearlong, churchwide journey to store up God’s Word. Each month we will memorize a passage of Scripture that goes along with our sermon series. Pick up your bookmark that has all the scripture passages, keep it in your bible for reference, and join our Facebook group for accountability and encouragement. We are confident that you will experience the living and active power of God’s Word in far greater ways than ever before. Join us in memorizing scripture!
