I’m Tim VanSumeren and I was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan. My wife and I served in Thailand for 11 years until some health issues brought us back to the States. I started attending Cornerstone back in 1999. After becoming a member, I began assisting Youth Pastor, Tim A., with youth ministry. We returned to Thailand in 2003. Then in 2007 the Lord brought Helen and me back to PA to become the Youth Pastor/Missional Pastor here at Cornerstone. A couple years later, we became a Multi-site church and I was moved into the position of Campus Pastor of March St. I also oversee the worship ministry at this campus. Wow, almost 12 years I’ve been here.
God has blessed Helen and me with 40+ years of marriage, 4 married children and 10 grandkids. Our quiver is filling up fast.
My passion is people. I’d rather be out ministering to someone, than in a meeting, any day. My heart is to see all the people I come in contact with reach their full potential spiritually and in their daily lives. I love sitting down with those who are struggling and watching God work some amazing changes in their lives. That’s what gets my motor going and makes ministry worth it. To be used by God is my top joy.
I DO NOT like quiet walks on the beach. I’d rather be on my bicycle or in my shop working on a piece of furniture. I love singing to and for the glory of the Lord.
