Hi! I’m Laura. I work in the Cornerstone office Wednesday through Friday, occasionally on a Monday or Tuesday, and I will be happy to assist you. My family and I have been attending here for 17 years. We live in Lopatcong, the Phillipsburg area of New Jersey. We have four kids, Paul who is married to Leah and they have two little girls, a third girl on the way; Samuel who is married to Codie, and they have a little boy, a little girl, with one on the way; and, Hannah and Laurajane who live at home with us.
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and am one of seven kids, being raised Catholic. In 9th grade, my Dad and our family were transferred by Ford Motor Company to Detroit, Michigan, and we lived in West Bloomfield. Seven years later, my family was transferred to New Jersey when I was 21. One month after living here, I started secretarial business school. I took a part-time job pumping gas after school in Pluckemin, New Jersey. A Christian family pulled in for gas, witnessed to me, and I got saved at a youth group at their home that week. A couple of days later my husband, David, also pulled in for gas. On our second date I witnessed to him and he got saved. I only lived in New Jersey for one month, got saved and met my husband all within three weeks of working at that gas station. God’s divine providence is amazing, isn’t it? My husband, David, has been an Elder here at Cornerstone, was involved in the Riverside Ministry and other ministries at the church for many years. We really enjoy attending Life Groups.
I’m a secretary by trade, having worked at AT&T headquarters in New Jersey and Logos Christian Book Publishing Company before staying home for 17 years and raising my kids. My recent job experience has been with the Phillipsburg School District for many years as a Substitute Secretary, Teacher Aide, Library Aide and Personal Aide.
